Drama Analysis on Hamlet Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Drama Analysis on Hamlet - Essay Example And even when love is present, it is suppressed and treated as a stumbling block in oneââ¬â¢s quest for control such as the case of Hamlet who denied himself the love of Ophelia. The charactersââ¬â¢ obsession of who would be in control was so intense that the old Hamlet, the former King of Denmark was killed by his own brother Claudius just to assume his position as King and to take over his court. Familial relationship or any form of kinship was secondary to the consideration of who would take control and this could be nonchalantly disregarded when it impedes the objective of getting the crown. Old Hamlet was slain by his own blood brother, and to aggravate, his death was covered by lies that he even enjoin the kingdom to mourn with him. And to make things worse, Claudius, old Hamletââ¬â¢s murderous brother Claudius married his wife Gertrude who was technically Claudius sister-in-law before Claudius murdered his brother Hamlet. This is to gain control of the kingââ¬â¢s f amily in addition to seizing control of the Kingââ¬â¢s court by being crowned as King (Churnin). Apparently, the contest of who would be in control extends beyond the grave. The old King Hamlet will not be put away just like that even if he was murdered. This act of reappearing even as a ghost is beyond the quest of justice but rather a refusal to relinquish power and control (Lewis 611) by planting hatred in the heart of Prince Hamlet by letting him know that old Hamlet died of crime which is evident in these lines; Doom'd for a certain term to walk the night, And for the day confined to fast in fires, Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature ... dent in these lines; Doom'd for a certain term to walk the night,à à à à à And for the day confined to fast in fires,à à à à à Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature That instead of asking the young Hamlet to bring Claudius his uncle to justice, the ghost Hamlet instead asked for revenge quoting; Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder Claudius on the other hand put a show of having crocodile tears on the death of his brother Hamlet so that people will not prosecute him as a murderer but will instead become sympathetic to him by his show of grief which he in turn can use to gain control over the court. Claudius elaborate show of grief even enjoins the whole kingdom to mourn as if it was not him who murdered the old Hamlet by saying; Though yet of Hamlet our dear brother's deathà The memory be green, and that it us befittedà à à To bear our hearts in grief and our whole kingdomà à à To be contracted in one brow of woe,à à à Ye t so far hath discretion fought with natureà à à That we with wisest sorrow think on him,à à à Together with remembrance of ourselves. This cunning device to deceive the public was Claudius effort to gain control on the throne (Roe 376). But the old king will not just easily give up control on the throne as he showed himself to the young Hamlet to tell him that he was murdered. More than justice, it was control that the old king was after as he does not want his murderer to assume control of the kingdom. This revelation has a profound effect towards the young Hamlet as he is now preoccupied with hatred to avenge his father that he could no longer think of anything else except revenge. He could have been happy by diverting his attention to other things that could make him happy such as being with the woman he love such as

ORIENTALISM, PREJUDICE AND DESCRIMINATION Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
ORIENTALISM, PREJUDICE AND DESCRIMINATION - Essay Example USA policy makers have, declared various Islamic countries as promoters of terrorism and a part of ââ¬Ëaxis of evilââ¬â¢. Indeed, citizens from many Islamic citizens are heavily scrutinized at US airports because of such developments. Consequently, Muslims are ignited from such changes and protest against this maltreatment because they donââ¬â¢t want to be suspected as endorsers of terrorist elements worldwide. The first main characteristic of Orientalism is the ââ¬Ëcategorizations or generalizationsââ¬â¢ about a specific religious and / or ethnic group over self-drawn assuptions that later lead to negative interpretations and misconceptions about Muslims and Arabs. The second characteristic is that Orientalism discuss about cultural diversity and differences in values such as those between Eastern and Western society. (Hosking, 2009) All individuals should be provided sufficient knowledge through lectures about followers of some major religions such as Christainity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddihism and Jewism so that they could understand religious differences among people. Indeed, there is dire need to foster mingling among people through joint annual gatherings and corner meetings in towns and residential areas. Next, individuals should also be taught that never support mediaââ¬â¢s propaganda against any particular ethnic or religious group. Rather, if people have ambiguities, they should better read authentic literature and interact with people of a particular religion to eradicate their

LAND LAW Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
LAND LAW - Coursework Example Property law declares what society regards as property, it creates or constitutes property rights, defines the legal incidence of those rights i.e. their content, regulates the dynamics of property rights and prescribes the conditions for the availability of the rights.1 Property in land The legal conception of land under English Common Law is expressed in the maxim. Cujus est solum, ejus est usque ad coelum et ad inferos. Land embraces not just the physical straturm but fixtures, water and all things found in the aerospace above the geospace. Kelsen v Imperial Tobacco Co. ââ¬â 1957 2 Q.B 334.2 In the case before us there are two main issues to be determined in this scenario. First matter is erected fence which was done by Terri Staines thatleads to the front of the garage which partially divides off the property from that of Lee Vowlesââ¬â¢. And the other one is the fence which is going to be erected by Lee Vowle. The case scenario indicates that the issues are parts of a dis pute which has begun due to an undetermined boundary. In the precedent of ACCO Properties Ltd v Severn & Anor [2011] EWHC 1362(Ch) Simon Barker QJ set out the principles on determining boundary lines in Paragraph 11. Starting from the registered title plan, it only indicates the general boundary3, and there is no physical boundary4. Given that it does not bring any lucidity then the extrinsic substantiation should be taken into account which was existed on the land when the partitioning conveyance was executed. There was a small cobbled5 area about equidistant between the two properties; unfortunately the cobbled area was removed before the sale to the predecessor of Terri. This indication is not sufficient to determine the boundary. And again it is mentioned that the land was sold to the predecessors in the title of Lee and Terri, and registered with the local land registry, Land Registration Act2002 (LRA). In bold property in land means the exclusive control of the soil everything up to the sky and down to centre of the earth. In that case every interest in land is registered and operated under a particular statute. To exemplify, registration is mainly done to minimize the friction in the society through granting ownership to particular person(s), creating various interest over land (lease hold & freehold) as well as conveyancy.6 Therefore, this applies to Terri Staines, and Lee Vowles who derivatively acquired their ownership of title from the original predecessors in voluntary sale.7 In contrast, Thorpe Ltd acquired his/her ownership by asserting original claim on derelict land which had not been own by anyone.8 However, the degree of control or of enjoyment an individual or community may have over land varies with the nature of the rights vested. Terri Stainesââ¬â¢ verses Lee Vowlesââ¬â¢ land and Thorpe Ltd. This Case translates to (Trespass to land) Lee complains that Terri erected his fence encroaching into his /her land in 1996. Besides, whenever Terri Stainesââ¬â¢s friends and relatives pay him a visit they often park their cars partly across his/her driveway which means there is difficulty reversing the car out on Lee Vowlesââ¬â¢s part. This proves that Leeââ¬â¢s right of possession and enjoyment of his/her property has been disturbed or interfered with ââ¬Å"Res ipsa loquitorâ⬠.9 The most obvious example is unauthorized walking upon the plaintiffââ¬â¢s land or going into the buildings upon it, but it is equally trespass to throw things on

Organisational plans of learning contract objectives Essay
Organisational plans of learning contract objectives - Essay Example Design (ID) structures or rather models focus on the design and most specifically on the analysis parts. Such models are particularly used to direct the whole process of developing the learning platform. The reason as to why, the said models are used is merely due to the fact that, they provide a quality profound decision in ascertaining the way a learning program should be carried out. The ideology herein of this system is settled on acquiring a general view of the learning process. It is thus featured by a systematic process for assembling and evaluating mutual and personal performance requirements, and by the aptitude to react to the discovered training needs. The relevance of the systems approach ascertains that the learning programs and the necessary supportive materials are constantly created in an effective and appropriate way to counterpart the diversity of necessities in a swiftly dynamic environment (English, 2006). In this note, ISD are extensively known as ADDIE, which is to stand for, Analysis, Design, Development, Implement and Evaluate. It is also referred as System Approach to Training. Even though, there are quite slight variances amid the various ISD models, nearly all systematic Learning design models reflects an approach akin to the ADDIE model(English, 2007,Pg.419-424). Concisely, ADDIE models are described herein which are then reflected on the Learning Plan Map. Analyze the performance surroundings in ascertaining and comprehending on it, and then make a step ahead in describing the objectives required, in the name of approving any performance discrepancies. In essence it is merely meant to help in discovering the training necessities. Design a procedure or rather a platform that will guide in attaining objectives. This is also helpful in amending the performance discrepancies. Develop the original findings and procedures into a product that will help the learners into achieving the capacity to become performers. Within the training system , this might be referred as a courseware to the learners. Implement is achieved by providing the courseware to the learners. Evaluate is the final aspect in the learning plan map. This is achieved through the course ware, an audit track down all through the four phases and also from the working surrounding to ascertain desirable outcome is attained (English, 2007, Pg.23). To concisely navigate through the learning plan map, the below activities are conducted underneath each phase. On the Analysis part, there is a requirement to be able determine the results or rather the connection. Analyzing the entire system is fundamental as it helps have a clear picture of whatââ¬â¢s needed. Then, bring together the task account that is linked to each job. On the same phase, chose the tasks that should be worked on and the ones that will approve learners into becoming performance. Also create some performance measures where the tasks is to be learned from learned and on the same note, select the instructional settings for the task linked with each job. Finally, determining the cost to be incurred and weighing its benefits is very useful. As discussed as portrayed from the map, the rest of the three factors have to follow up without skipping out nay process (English, 2007, Pg.30). This is well illustrated by the Lesson plan Map below. . RESEARCH PLAN MAP English (2008) asserts that using Concept Maps in planning a curriculum or rather researching on instructions on a particular topic helps the students in coming up with transparent concepts. When the concepts maps are merged during the course or rather at the curriculum level, there is always desire to arrange them. These, then calls up to researching for an international ââ¬Å"macro mapâ⬠that is expected to provide adequate information and their propinquity. A research plan map avails the necessary details for a

Intelligence Case Essay Example for Free
Intelligence Case Essay In the traditional view of China, people think intelligence is a person with high IQ and could get high score at the intelligence test. However, this should be the biggest misunderstanding at all. A person who can get high grade at the test may just be good at the test, and it can never prove the person is intelligence in every field of life. Intelligence is a word to describe a person who is wise. According to my understanding, intelligence includes much more than smart. I think intelligence is a kind of ability or wisdom a person get as long as he/she grow older. Within the settling of time, people can learn more and more from life experience or other people. There are some natural born intelligence, but not all. According to Howard Gardner, ââ¬Å"[intelligence] is an inborn attribute or faculty of the individualâ⬠(Howard, 109). Apparently, this quote give a clear explains of where intelligence came from. Gardner gave 7 different intelligences to improve his idea which I could not agree with him at all. Based on my own experience and growing environment, I should say intelligence is a kind of ability to learn, and we can become intelligence if we worked hard on those specific fields. When I was I young boy, I couldnââ¬â¢t speak clearly. It was an natural thing and the doctor from the hospital said that I will become mute within as time goes on. My mother was really sad about it and kept crying everyday about this. However, my father never gave up on me. He started training me after the doctor told the bad news when I was only 3 years old. At the beginning, it was really hard. I could not say even a single word as normal kids. My father forced me to bite a leaf over my tongue, and keep saying simple word like ââ¬Å"aâ⬠, ââ¬Å"yiâ⬠etc. I was wearing an earphone on my ear every day and could not take it off without my fatherââ¬â¢s permission. After about 3 years, at the age of elementary time, I could speak, even its still not clear enough. My father kept working hard with me, and I could speak like a normal person until I got 10. My experience told me that I may not have the linguistic talent as others, but I could speak Chinese, Japanese and English now. Intelligence can be trained as other skill. My father is my example of intelligence. When my father was graduated from high school, he was arranged to a bank by my grand-father. However, he had a slightly autism at the time. He was afraid of talking to others. But at that time, no one in China mentioned that and no one understand itââ¬â¢s a kind of psychological disease. My father was afraid of almost everything in the world, including my grandparents. Therefore, he never told my grandparents about it. He decided to work it out by himself. He had to speak to others and saved his job as a normal worker. He went to public place at spare time. It was really hard for him to talk to people at first. He could only stand around people and watching them doing their things. Heââ¬â¢d ran away when somebody tried to talk to him. However, he just kept going there, he tried more and more, he practiced in front of the mirror and imagined he was talking to someone who he can make friends with. After 3 months of trying, he succeed. Another 3 years later, he met my mother and married her. And now, he ran one of the biggest hotel in my hometown and several other kinds of business. He had meetings with his employees every day and became a successful person at the interpersonal field. My father might not have the interpersonal talent, but he had the interpersonal intelligence for sure. Some intelligences were born naturally. However, people can be intelligence at the field they donââ¬â¢t have talent at by working hard on it. Iââ¬â¢d love to be intelligence and I will keep trying to be intelligence at as much field as I can.

Current Environmental Laws In The Philippines
Current Environmental Laws In The Philippines Our environmental laws are very important to us. It is very important beacause we all know that some are still depending to our natural environment for a living like those who are belong to a community located to mountaneous areas and also for us living in a rural areas or urban areas. By the implementation of these environmental laws, we are all gaining informations and knowledges about the proper protection of our environment. For me, the summarization of all the current environmental laws and policies are mainly composed of the proper ulitization and management of all the aspects of our natural environment. Below are some of the most important environmental laws of our country. The Philippine Environmental Policy Governs the general policies on the pursuits of a better quality of life for the present and future generations and mandates undertaking the environmental impact assessments for all projects, which may significantly affect the environment. (P.D 1151) Defines the objectives and the strategies for the various aspects of environmental management, such as air and water quality management, natural source development, land management, and waste management. It launches a comprehensive national program of environmental protection and management, with reference to policies and standards of noise, air quality, classification of water and waste management. (P.D 1152) The Philippine environmental policy is really very important because it promotes the protection of our natural resources and our natural environments. We all know that our country is very famous around the world by having the most wonderful and aesthetic natural resources thats why we really need to preserve this resources in order to sustain that title and also for us to be still benifited with these natural and environmental resources. The Forestry Reform Code P. D. 389 (P.D. 705) Codifies, updates and raises forestry laws in the country. It emphasizes the sustainable utilization of forest resources. The law which concerns about our forest are very important to sustain our flora and fauna which are living in our forest and also to help sustain those endangered species. The banning of illegal cutting of trees is very important because when trees are all gone, it can cause soil erosion and can harm us by causing great flood just like what happened this past few years. Illegal logging can also contributes in the loss of our ecosystem which can cause distress not only for those flora and fauna but also to us.It also governs the preseravation and otimimum productivity of fishery resources through conservation and protection. Water Code of the Philippines (P.D. 1067) Adopts adequate measures to conserve and regulate the use of water in commercial, industrial and residentail areas. It also provides other policy guidelines in water quality and management of water resources. This protects our water system especially for those who depends their business in the water. They imposed this law to govern those who are being unaware to the posibilities of damaging our water resources through improper disposal of garbages and ineffecient use of waters. Other laws under the environmental laws are Pollution Control Law, Sanitation Code, Control of Pesticides, Local Government Code of 1991, Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act, The Fisheries Code of the Philippines and The Solid Waste Management Act of 2001. These environmental laws are really needed in order for us to protect our natural environment through good management of these resources and these laws is a eye opener for us to see the posible effects of the improper usage of our natural resources. Through good governance, we will be able to help each others to protect and sustain our natural environment for the next generation to come. We need to comply to these laws in order for us to have the limits in which we can use these resources and be able to preserve and protect such very imporatnat element of our life, the natural resources and our natural environment. Source of the three environmental laws that I discussed: http://bio427.blogspot.com/2010/10/environmental-laws-of-philippines.html How Hospitality and Tourism Management is affected by the current environmental laws? The Hospitality and Tourism Management is affected by the current environmental laws in a very positive ways. It is very beneficial for them because they will be able to know the guidelines in protecting our environment which this Hospitality and Tourism Management is very dependent. We all know that under Hospitality and Tourism Management is the tourism industry which really relying on our environment with their businesses. For they are the most dependent to our natural environment, they must be the one who needs to protect it and also to sustain it. Another positive effect of these environmental laws to Hospitality and Tourism Management is that tourism industry will be boost knowing that they have the ability to protect, sustain and improve our natural environment which can help to promote our country. The tourism industry is really obliged to protect our environment to sustain the tourists that they have and they will have. When the tourist see that they are helping our governme nt in managing our environment, they will be glad to still go back to our country not only for a good service nor good employees but merely by the fact that our environment is still in good conditions and still improving which this guests and tourists are visiting for and which they can also enjoy. When we look to the other side which this tourism industry is not complying and not implementing these environmental laws, it will greatly contributes in damaging our environment and might causes negative impacts not only to our natural environment but also to the species of animals, plants, fishes and also to us humans. All other industry must be in accordance to our environmental laws because they are interrelated to each other. For example, a mining industry which disposes their toxic wastes directy to the sea or ocean can affect the businesses which are relying on the sea or located beside the shoreline because this toxic wastes can cause deseases and can cause damages on the corals, fishes and other living organism in the sea. They are co-related to each other thats why they need to act as one for them to show also that they respect each others. The Hospitality and Tourism Management which is the mother of all indutries specifically the tourism industry must know the proper usage of our environment and the proper management of our natural resources because we all know that this industry is the most income generating to our country and it produces works for our local employees and we all know that a lot of employees are all depending to this industry. If we will not be able to protect and sustain this natural environment, a lot also of negetaive effects will come out and one of the most dangerous effect is that when our environment is greatly damaged, a lot of workers will be dismiss to their work and what will now happen to them? Unemployment rate level will increase and a lot of local people will experienced poverty. As a tourism student, we are very much thankful because we are able to know the positive and negative impacts of the misgovernance of our environment. We are also able to know the environmental laws which our g overnment has imposed and it is very important for us because at young age, we are in the capacity of opening our minds in protecting and in helping in sustaining our environment which in the near future, we will be also be dependent on it. We should act as one and we need to focus in protecting the natural environments that we have. 3.) How Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) businesses can help improve the current environmental laws? Hospitalty and Tourism Management businesses can really help to improve and sustain the current environmental laws of our country by basically complying to these laws. By showing that they are implementing and they are abiding to these environmental laws, they are greatly contributing in promoting the need to act in the way that is legally pursuits. These businesses are the ones who much need to follow these laws because they are more benefited. We all know that the tourism industry is depending to our natural environment. And if we are not able to protect our environment, the tourism industry will really fluctuate. And as you can see, some whos under the tourism industry are not complying to our environmental laws and greatly causing damages to our environment. For example, some resort owners are not following the rules and regulations of our environmental laws just like the proper measurement of the establishment, the proper disposal of their garbages and many more. These careless actions are greatly causing damages, and if these actions are continuosly happening, for sure our environment will be highly damage. Our environmental laws are really important for us to help preserve the natural resources and the natural environment that we have. As you can obeserved, laws makes us more be practically be knowldegeable about the dos and donts regarding to the implementation and usage of our natural environment. The businesses which are under the tourism industy must know the proper environmental management, waste management, land management, and natural source development in order for them to help in improving our environmental laws as well as our natural environments. They are really can promote in preserving and sustaining our environment which is the environmental laws is protecting. Another example of improving the environmental laws by the hostipitality and tourism manangement businesses is that if a specific establishment which are under this industry are very competitive to others, they are much more well appreciated and much more advantageous knowing that they have all the necessary papers like permits and other legal documents that they need to accomplish which our goverment are imposing and their guests will be more knowledgeable about helping in protecting our environment by simply knowing the proper disposal of their own garbages. Environmental laws are providing the necessary information that a single business must know and the ordinances that they need to comply with. Basically, if all the businesses are do have a great information and they are all aware to these environmental laws, we are greatly a means of instrument in helping in preserving our natural environments. As we all know, the tourism industry which is under the Hostpitality and Tourism Management is the fastest income generating out of all the industries that we have and our tourism industry are really helping in uplifting our economy. These tourism businesses are also generating jobs and employment to a lot of workers. By means of protecting our environment, they are also helping in sustaining these businesses which is really important to our country. The proper utilization of these natural environment and natural resources, will not only benefits ourselvelves but also we are also ganing respects from others. As a tourism student and in the near future my future work will be also depending on the natural environment that we have, I need also to contributes my effort in helping to promote the good usage of our environment by merely knowing the implemented laws regarding in protecting our natural resources and our environments just like the very simple way, throwing my garbages on proper and also by merely helping and joining to tree planting activities of our school, our barangay and also of our municipality. At young age, we need to be knowledgeable to what we need to do and what we need to act in order for us to know the implications of being aware to the current situation of our environment.
